DIY Camera Sling Strap

    • 1). Attach both ends of the laptop strap to the welded loop of the snap hook. Most laptop bag straps will have hooks that will snap onto the loop. If your strap doesn't have an easy way to attach the ends to the loop, you can cut off the ends of the straps, heat-seal the cut edges to prevent fraying and then stitch and/or glue the ends around the loop.

    • 2). Slide the stop from the ferrule set down over the shaft of the eyebolt. Slip two rubber washers down over the shaft so that they sit atop the stop.

    • 3). Test the fit of the mechanism by screwing the end of the eyebolt into the tripod mount at the bottom of your camera. If the stop and washers slip around on the eyebolt, add more washers until the fit is snug. If the screw won't seat fully in the socket, remove a washer so that it will screw securely in place.

    • 4). Clip the snap hook onto the loop of the eye bolt. Test the fit of the strap when slung across your body and adjust the length of the laptop strap until it fits comfortably.
