Cleaning Up Crayon Stains on Your Carpet

Children can be really creative when they are still in their early years.
They can draw and paint really imaginative and interesting things and that is on their minds.
One of the best things to fuel their creative side is crayons.
Crayons have been a part of children's lives for countless years now.
It is really a nice thing to have for your kids and it is definitely a very helpful companion for them to unleash their creative side.
Letting your kids play with some crayons does have its disadvantages at times such as when they draw and create smudges all over your beautiful carpet.
If you have this mess at home, you can surely attest to how problematic this can be.
Just follow the steps below to help you through this carpet cleaning problem in your home.
• Remove as much of the crayon on the carpet by scraping it using a spoon or a blunt knife.
After doing so, use a wet/dry vac to suck up all of the loose particles to help clear the area.
• You can still get rid of some more of the crayon stain on the carpet by blotting it using a clean white cloth or paper towel.
Do this until there is no more crayons transferring from the carpet and onto the cloth.
• Create a detergent solution that will be very helpful in fighting off the crayon stains on your carpet.
You can do this quite easily since all you would have to do is to combine a teaspoon of non-bleach detergent with a quart of warm water.
Just remember to use a non-bleach detergent since bleach can be harmful if used on the carpet.
• After getting the cleaning solution ready, take some of it and apply it onto the stained portion of the carpet.
Let the solution soak the stain for three minutes before proceeding and blotting the stained area.
Continue blotting until you are able to completely eliminate the crayon stains.
It could take some time which is why you must stay patient and persevere until you get the results you are looking for.
• For the final step, rinse the carpet with some water to help remove residue that could stay behind on the carpet fibers.
Then, use a wet/dry vac to dry everything completely.
Your kids creating stains on the carpet using crayons should no longer be a problem anymore.
Just use the guide above to get your carpet nice and clean in no time.
