- 1). Place the front and back side seams of your patterns together to match them up. Pin the pieces together.
- 2). Grade one size smaller by performing the following measurement. For sizes 6 and below, measure 1/2 inch. Sizes 8 and 10, measure 1 inch. Size 12, measure 1.5 inches. After size 14, measure 2 inches. Divide by the four cut edges.
- 3). Measure the inseam from the waist to the hem. Cut this amount off your patterns.
- 4). Measuring from the new cut edge, mark a seam allowance of 5/8 inch. Check the thigh measurement again to verify that you have measured correctly.
