- 1). Sketch out a plan for the hidden object wall hanging you will create. Decide on a theme, such as an animal camouflaged in its habitat, hidden objects amidst family photographs, different shells that have to be found within a beach landscape, random objects or blue flowers that have to be found amongst a series of blossom pictures. Decide which items are going to be "hidden".
- 2). Cut out pictures of the hidden objects, other objects and landscaping you have chosen from magazines, calendars, postcards and photographs. Arrange them on a piece of card stock or cardboard before gluing them down. If you are "hiding" an animal within its habitat, position other pictures that have similar colors as the animal immediately around it. You can alternatively create a hidden object piece by using many pictures of objects and interspersing these with the objects to be found. If you have artistic skills, draw and paint a landscape and place small pictures of the hidden objects throughout.
- 3). Glue the pictures onto the card stock so that the hidden objects are tricky to find. Allow the glue to dry and apply one to two layers of decoupage finish to the entire collage to give it a more refined look. Once it is dry, place the collage in an appropriate frame.
- 4). Type a label for your wall hanging in your word processing program that denotes the items that need to be found. Select a typeface that fits with the theme of your collage. Print it onto white card stock and place it in a small frame. Hang the wall hanging on the wall and hang the label below it.
