- Students graduating from Abilene High School, Cooper High School and Wylie High School are eligible to apply for a number of school-specific scholarships granted by the Community Foundation of Abilene. Abilene High School graduates alone have nearly 30 scholarships to apply for. Students must submit a general application and supplement it with references and essays as required by specific scholarships. From 2008 to 2009, the Community Foundation of Abilene awarded $129,600 in scholarships to local students.
- The West Texas Pharmacy Association, located in Abilene, offers 10 scholarships to pharmacy students in the area who are members of the association. They must be in good standing at an accredited pharmacy school, and submit a recommendation letter from the West Texas Pharmacy Association as well as a letter stating their need for the scholarship.
- The Abilene Education Foundation distributes a number of scholarships to students enrolled at Abilene High School and Cooper High School. Abilene High School scholarships include the Todd Moore Memorial Scholarship, which goes to a student golfer in financial need, and the Janet Parkey Memorial Scholarship Fund for an outstanding senior at the school. Cooper High School scholarships include the Ross Jones Memorial Scholarship, which goes to a student athlete participating in football or soccer.
- Abilene Christian University offers four tiers of academic scholarships ranging from $3,000 to $10,000 a year. They are based on high school grade point average and ACT or SAT scores. Some of the school's academic departments give separate scholarships, and the university also offers athletic scholarships.
