Tarmac Still the Most Popular in the World

Tarmac still the most popular in the world
In 1901 Edgar Purnell Hooley patented a type of road surfacing material called Tarmacadam which is popularly known as tarmac. Tar and aggregate are mixed prior to lying down and the mixture is compacted by using a steam roller. This became a popular choice for the road after motorcar started using the roads.
Tarmac is used to build roads and driveways. Although now bitmac is used but tarmac remains a popular choice is some part of the world. It is considered as the most popular and cheapest methods of driveway surfacing.
Although tarmac can be laid by hand it is best to use machine. The main issue with tarmac is that is prone to damage and can be easily damaged by water and substances like motor oil, diesel fuel, kerosene and gasoline. As it is petroleum based the above substances causes' irreversible damage to tarmac drives. As such proper drainage facility is required so that water is not left on the tarmac for too long thus limiting the damage.
For making a tarmac drives first the driveway has to be excavated. Then to fill it up stone has to be used. Next the tarmac has to be mixed with oil and then heated in a drum. It has to be constantly stirred to avoid it from sticking. Using a shovel the tarmac can be spread and then using a roller can be compacted. Finally to make the tarmac extra durable Picscoat can be used. If the right amount of Picscoat is used it becomes more durable. Generally a 5 liter unit will cover an area between 10 and 15 m. Then again people can always be hired to do the task and a team of around four men would be required for this job. When hiring people always be extra careful. There are always shady contractors and if they are hired cost will balloon and the work won't be done properly. So it's very important to do extensive research before hiring anyone to do this kind of work. Better safe than sorry. There are lot of different tarmac which can be used to create a tarmac drives.
Many people uses tarmac to create paths through garden. Special care needs to be taken when tarmac is used for this purpose. As not laying the tarmac properly it might crack and lead to moss growth. This causes the surface to become slippery and accidents can occur while walking on the surface.
In order to remove moss from the tarmac drives, at first the surfaced has to be cleaned by brushing and then treating the surface with an anti-moss agent such as Batiface. This is especially helpful during winter as the surface becomes extra slippery during this time. Also by spraying anti-moss product such as Batimoss CR moss growth on the surface can be discouraged.

All in all tarmac which being used from 1901 and after a century of use is still the popular choice for people around the world. If used properly it can be used to build sturdy tarmac drives and at affordable price.
