- 1). Open Photoshop. Select "File" and click "New." In the dialog that opens, make the size 500 x 500 pixels. Then click "OK." In the "Layers" panel, create a new layer. Select the "Elliptical Marquee" tool. Hold down the "Shift" key and draw a circle on the canvas.
- 2). Select "Edit" and click "Stroke." In the dialog that opens, make it "Center," 2 pixels and click "OK." Then go to "Select" and click "Deselect."
- 3). Select the "Move" tool and center the circle on the canvas. Hide the "Background" layer. Now hold down the "Ctrl" key and click on the layer "Thumbnail." Go to "Edit" and select "Copy" and "Paste." Do this two more times. Select the bottom circle layer, hold down the "Shift" key and click the "Up" arrow six times. Do the same for each of the circle layers, selecting a different arrow key each time.
- 4). Select "Layer" from the menu and click "Merge Visible." Right-click on the layer and "Duplicate" it twice.
- 5). Select one of the layers. Select "Edit," then "Transform" and click "Rotate." Go to the options at the top and enter "45" in the "Rotate" box. Then repeat this with another layer, except enter "22.5" in the box. You can continue this process to create more complex patterns if you wish.
