Get a Solid Pine Chest of Drawers

For most people, buying a chest of drawers can be a pretty important choice.
After all, this is furniture that will probably be used every day and will be prominently displayed in whichever room it is intended for.
It doesn't make sense to save a small amount of money on a dresser that will be an eyesore or that won't do the job expected of it.
Wooden furniture can look nice, but can also be expensive.
Plastic furniture is cheap, but generally looks pretty bad.
Fortunately, buying a solid pine chest of drawers doesn't have to cost too much, and it will look very nice for most decors and rooms.
Pine has a warm color that's warm and comforting, yet it isn't over the top in any way.
It is also relatively cheap compared to some solid hardwoods like oak and cherry.
And a well-assembled pine chest made from decent pine should also last a very long time.
For those who want a nice chest, but not something that will cost an arm and a leg, such a pine chest may be an ideal compromise.
Although most people consider pine to be below oak, maple, etc.
, there are some who prefer pine for its unpretentiousness and simplicity.
One of my personal favorites in terms of furniture styles makes extensive use of pine, and that style is Mexican (also known as Southwestern or New Mexican).
This tradition of woodworking accounts for the generally weaker structure of pine by using thicker pieces of it in making furniture, making for a style that is distinctive for especially solid looking furniture.
A pine chest of drawers done in this style will have presence without appearing bloated or excessively heavy, rather the overall composition usually looks quite balanced.
Another style commonly done in pine is the rustic style.
Many charming pine dressers are done in this style, and this furniture can be a real joy to have in the home.
With its friendly presence and somewhat casual, yet utilitarian feel, this is furniture that is distinctly "homey" in character.
Yet another option is to get an antique pine chest of drawers.
This can be a good choice because there is a wide range of pine dressers that are antique, and prices tend to be reasonable.
The wood used will also most often be quality pine (much of the pine used nowadays is plantation grown and inferior in strength and looks to that from healthy, older trees).
