- 1). Press the "Volume Up" button on the RCA remote control. This takes the television off of "Mute" mode and increases the audio. If the RCA is on mute or the volume is all the way down, you are not going to hear anything.
- 2). Check the cable connection running from the outside hardware (such as a DVD player or VCR). If the cables are not inserted securely into the inputs on the RCA television, you can either hear static or nothing at all.
- 3). Press the "Menu" button on the RCA remote control and select "Audio." Check to make sure the audio options are not pushed down to "0." If the settings are at "0," you are either going to have muffled sound or no sound at all. Select the settings that are at "0" and press the right directional arrow button on the remote and increase the audio to a level you find suitable.
- 4). Power off the RCA television and let it stay off for a few minutes. This allows the TV to refresh and cancel any error signals it may have received (including a signal to not play audio). Power on the television and you can hear the audio as it should be.
