New Born Baby Photography Tips to Achieve the Perfect Shot

New born baby photography comes with surprises, especially if it is your first time. Below are a few handy new born baby photography tips that will help you greatly if you are interested to learn how to make a baby shot look fantastic. It is obvious that every photographer has his own style but here are a few things that will help you get along the first few shots of the new born baby.
Choosing between Posed or Lifestyle:
There are two types of new born photography, the Posed and the Lifestyle. Well, both of these are cute and adoring. Therefore, it is very important that you make your client aware of what you are planning to do and what should they expect.
Posed photo sessions:
The posed new born baby photography should be done within the first two weeks of birth. This is the time when a baby is sleepy which makes it easy to mold. This type of photo session focuses on the perfection with wrapping the baby in blankets, hats and head bags (while he is asleep). Each session can last from 3 to 5 hours including the potty, feeding breaks with preparation of each shot. Editing such images also requires a lot of time and attention as it needs to go through the Photoshop individually to get a well refined product.
Lifestyle sessions:
This is a bit casual approach to the new born baby photography. Some of these shots can be posing but the shots are captured in a natural way of the newborn and his home. Unlike posing sessions, these sessions can be easily done within the first 6 weeks of birth and lasts for no more than 2 hours. The element which makes the Lifestyle preferable over Posing is it's about to capture the wonder and admiration between the new born and his or her parents. This connection makes an incredible love in the air scenario which needs to be captured in a frame. Remember that these shots can be a little fuzzy for the parents but that`s what it makes these shots more important than others.
Both of these styles have their own attractions but photographers prefer Posed sessions over Lifestyle as there are less breaks in it. However, if you want to get the best, these breaks are not a complete waste of time as taking a break and changing the baby's mode get you something fresh to start with and provides you the excellent opportunities for taking great shots.
A tip for photographers:
If you are going for a lifestyle photo shot then prepare as if you are going for a wedding. You will need a bit of equipment (which is easy to forget when packing in a hurry) but make sure you are packing everything you need by making a list of things you might need. To make your work easy, here is an example:
€ Primary and Secondary Cameras
€ Memory Cards (Formatted)
€ Lenses
€ Loud kids toys
€ Posing bean bags, step tool, bobby pillows and backdrop stand for the baby
€ Change of clothes
€ Some props
€ Blankets for the background
€ Head bands
