A new friend of mine, Dale Furtwengler, recently shared that his real success with weight loss came with the resolution to gain health!Everyone likes to get or gain things, like gifts, friends and their collection of enriching experiences.
Why not apply this "glass is half full" approach to you health care?Think about it...
everyone and everything you have ever lost you've wanted back.
It could have been a childhood pet, a first love, grandma's treasured ring, money, or a job.
You are conditioned to work hard and endlessly to get it back.
So why would you be surprised when your weight comes back? You are programmed by a life of finding things you've lost to get it back, subconsciously or not.
We are taught by our physics teachers and our experiences that nature abhors a vacuum.
Create a space and something will fill it.
Why not get something you want, leaving no room for weight (or any other unwanted "thing").
Use the neuro-linguistic programming skills (a science of vocabulary content) of getting things, such as nutritious food, a fun exercise program, improved concentration skills, easy discipline etc.
What you will find is that in taking steps to gain things that you want, you will in fact gain a more ideal body weight (ie weight loss for most), gain quality sleep (loose restlessness) and gain concentration (loose distractedness).
The take home message is to be very clear on what you want to get, rather than what you hope to loose.
