I look forward to Christmas all year and love to prepare for Christmas by making different kinds of unique ornaments that will keep my Christmas tree looking special.
Recently I made this Dove ornament and it turned out really cute I can't wait to see it on my tree next year.
Making this unique ornament was actually quit simple and inexpensive.
Get your kids involved, they will love creating something for your Christmas tree and it will make your ornament that much more special.
Just follow these quick and easy steps to get started.
Begin by drawing a dove body and wing (separate) on a piece of paper and cut out.
This will be your pattern, if you plan to reuse your pattern I would suggest making it out of cardboard for something more durable.
Then fold your felt square in half, trace the patterns and cut out.
You should end up with two dove bodies and two wings.
Fist you will want to make your hanger, so cut a piece of ribbon 3" long and fold in half.
Next glue the hanger in between the two bodies at the top of the dove and then position the wing where you want want it, gluing one wing on each side of the dove.
For the eyes you can use rhinestones just glue one rhinestone on each side of the doves head.
Beads also work well if you don't have any rhinestones.
Then glue small artificial leaf to the beak.
To add an extra sparkle sprinkle a little glitter all over the dove.
Don't be afraid to make this ornament your own, get creative hang a charm from the hanger or date it with a fabric pen.
I hope you enjoy making this unique ornament as much as I have.
It is a great way to spend an hour of quality time with your kids or if your a teacher try it with your students in class.
Remember you can be creative and customize your dove ornament how ever you wish it to be.
A fun tip: use fabric paint to add detail to you dove ornament like for the eyes and beak.
The possibilities are endless and isn't that whats great about creating your own ornaments.
Below is a list of things you will nee to complete this project.
What you Need: 1 Square of felt (any color) 2 Rhinestones/Beads Ribbon Glitter Fabric glue Scissors Pencil Paper
