I had a chance to see the all new Vera Bradley patterns for the spring of 2010 and I was quite shocked. First of all I did not think we would be able to get a sneak peek at these patterns so soon. I mean, it's still the summer of 2009 and we have not even seen the winter patterns hit the stores yet officially. And secondly, I was shocked because these new designs are very different than anything we have seen yet.

At first I thought they were throw-back patterns but they really do have a modern look all their own. Perhaps they are experimental in nature as well. Sometimes the company will pick select stores across the nation and let people fight over what they love or hate about the new styles. From there they can determine if the purses were a hit or if they need to hit the drawing bored again.

So what are the names of the 2010 spring patterns from Vera Bradley?

First we have "Sittin in a Tree". Yes, that's really the name of it and it looks just like it sounds. It's a mostly light green color and there is a little blue bird in the pattern that is chirping away. It's sort of a take off from Yellow Bird, but the colors are very different and rely heavily on earthy tones.

Next is "Totally Turq". I think this will be the most popular pattern of them all and it's a wonderful turquoise color with a design reminiscent of Cambridge. It's pretty and elegant and a nice addition to the new patterns coming out early next year.

"Loves Me" is one of the stranger patterns to come out and will be a beloved design for those women who are prissy and love pinks and purples. It's a little too much purple and pink for me, and there are humongous daisy like flowers decorating this design to make it stand out even more.

Lastly is "Poppy Fields" and at first it might look a little busy, but it's actually beginning to grow on me. It has a black background with bright red, yellow, and white flowers of different shapes and sizes on it.
