- The good news is that Crocin will relieve pain and fever within 30 minutes after you take it. It's effective enough that if you take it regularly, it may reduce your need for the anti-inflammatory NSAIDs often prescribed for arthritis. Use Crocin to combat pain from colds, flu and menstrual period discomfort in addition to headaches.
- Take Crocin orally in capsule or tablet form, available in 500, 650 and 1000mg strengths. For children there are Crocin drops and suspensions. CIMS India says the appropriate adult dosage of Corcin is 1/2 to 1g every four to six hours, not to exceed 4 g per 24 hours.
Crocin is metabolized in the liver. If you have liver problems, your safe dosage may be lower than the recommended one.
The safe amount of paracetamol to give children depends on their weight and age, with the normal dose, according to the Australian Rheumatology Association, at 15 mg per kg/2.2 lbs. of body weight. Check the strength of the liquid Crocin you are using so you don't give your child too much.
When taking Crocin, carefully read the ingredients list of any additional medications you're using. If any of them contain Crocin or paracetamol by any other name, factor that amount into your daily Crocin dose. The University of Maryland Medical Center has a list of all the names under which paracetamol/acetaminoophen is sold around the world.
Keep your doctor and pharmacist updated on your medications so they can warn you about possible overdoses or conflicts. - You're at risk of paracetamol poisoning if you ingest more than 7.5 g of Crocin, or more than 150mg per every kg/2.2 lbs. of your weight within 24 hours. Early symptoms are nausea and vomiting, although you might not exhibit any symptoms.
Severe liver damage and organ failure can result from paracetamol poisoning. If you think you've take too much Crocin, get medical help immediately.
Taken as directed, Crocin is extremely safe.
