Reflections by Jill - A Weekly Commentary for OLTL for June 14, 2010

I thoroughly enjoyed Bo and Nora’s wedding and on this rare occasion the writers did not disappoint. Although I did think it would have been nice to see Reverend Andrew come back to perform the ceremony and reunite with everyone in Llanview, I got a huge kick out of seeing David do the deed. I’m sure the day may come when we find out that the ceremony wasn’t really legal, everyone was willing to trust David’s credentials from the Scientologists, as well as his being ordained on line.

And wasn’t he adorable in his amazing Technicolor dream coat? Tuc Watkins is the master at carrying off the most ridiculous things, right down to calling Nora mom.

And just to keep the “no wedding goes off without a hitch” record going strong, just as David asks if anyone has any objections, Clint roars in with his trusty shotgun. Bo and Nora think he has flipped his wig and wants revenge against them, but he has found out that David was responsible for running Kim out of town and the gun is meant to take David out. Of course Viki comes to the rescue and calms Clint down so the ceremony can proceed and we never do find out what David had on Kim.

The reception was great, with the highlight being Viki introducing the happy couple and Bo and Nora coming in and breaking out in a dance to “Hold On I’m Coming.” Those two have still got it when it comes to cutting a rug and they were in their own world just enjoying each other. They were still dancing all by themselves well after everyone went home and enjoyed their favorite meal of burgers and fries courtesy of John from Rodi’s.

Oh and let’s not forget what was sure to be the most memorable wedding gift when Bo and Nora receive a personalized license plate from Statesville Prison courtesy of Lindsay. That was a nice touch.

Rex gave a lovely toast to Bo and Nora when Matthew was off dealing with Dani. He talked about looking for his real parents but admitted that Bo was the only real dad he would ever need.

Not everyone enjoyed the wedding. Dani finally go Matthew aside and confessed to him that she doesn’t return his feelings of love and claims she only wants his friendship because she doesn’t know how to be in love yet. Matthew sees through the deception and lets her know that he knows she is breaking up with him because of Nate. Poor Matthew. His first heartbreak. What a bummer!

The wedding got lots of others in the mood for romance. John and Natalie, Brody and Jessica, Blair and Eli, Kelly and Reid and Rex and Gigi all headed home and most headed for bed, or the roof, or the pool table, or the hotel room. Kelly and Re3id didn’t get far because they couldn’t shake Shawn who stuck like glue and Rex and Gigi got very close to making love but decided to take things slow, admitting that they still love each other.

Moving on; Starr takes Hope to the park and runs into a young man named James who befriends her and makes her feel comfortable enough to spill her guts to him, which I thought was really stupid. It turns out that young James is Ford’s brother and seems much like a cad in training. He later shows up at the hospital because he knows Ford was hurt, but it seems he needs his brother’s help because he is in trouble. A thug named Bull has been trying to track him down. The story is that James stole $50,000 from Bull’s boss, who I’m sure is not an upstanding citizen and the man wants his money back. What actually happens to the money is another story.

So Starr is in the hospital parking lot talking to Todd about his case; what else is new? Todd heads out and Starr decides to head home with Hope sleeping in the car but the car won’t start. Oh, and she gets no signal on her cell phone. Where I come from, a dad or most men would wait until a lady starter her car and headed out of a deserted parking lot, but not Todd. So Starr is about to head into the hospital to get help when James comes tearing into the lot running from Bull. He spots Starr and is able to start her car and gets the idea to use it as a getaway car. Starr is shocked when he tells her to get in but she wasn’t about to let him drive off with hope so she gets in and he tears out of the garage. So now he is on the run with Starr and Hope. Oh joy!

John has more and more doubts about Markko’s guilt, especially when Langston shows up at the police station and confesses to attacking Ford. She can’t stand to see Markko in jail even though she thinks he really did it. John puts Markko and Langston in a room together where he can hear their conversation and knows they will tell each other the truth. Langston admits she didn’t hurt Ford and Markko does the same, which leads John to release Markko. John heads to the hospital when he hears news that Ford is awake, hoping to find out who really clocked the jerk.

Hannah visits Ford while he is still unconscious and she isn’t at all sad about his condition. Marty catches her in the hall and Marty is already pretty much convinced that Hannah has a few screws loose and was the one who pushed her. Marty asks her to come for a session and Hannah says she no longer needs therapy. Marty comes right out and asks her if she was th4 one who pushed her and attacked Forde and of course she denies it but Marty sees she is very disturbed. Hannah runs away and right to Cole, blaming Starr for turning Marty against her.

Markko’s parents are on the warpath, starting with his mother showing up at Dorian’s house and slapping Dorian in the face. She accuses her of raising a slut in Langston, calling Langston every synonym for whore she can think of. Dorian is appalled. What else is new? Markko’s dad is being his obnoxious self at the jail and we’re not so sure he thinks his son is innocent. What a fool.
