Many years of study and medical expertise have established how much obesity is damaging to health. The costs to contemporary society in the US is incredible and draws near several hundred billion dollars every year. Needless to say a lot less is spent for weight loss products and solutions, but it remains in the billions annually. The US is slowly putting on more weight with each passing year, or so it appears. Several culprits that only aggravate this state of affairs are corporations that create processed foods and unhealthy drinks. There is undoubtedly no secret that countless foods contain high sugar and fat content. We only have room for a few of the dangers due to obesity.
Type 2 diabetes because of obesity continues to be escalating at an alarming rate in recent times. What is becoming even more scary is the soaring incidence of this condition in young people who are also seriously overweight. Obesity may cause insulin resistance which is substantial and a precursor to raised levels of blood glucose. A person who has already been significantly overweight or severely obese is at a high risk with a sugar rich diet. Many organizations and people have tried to help make the general public aware of high fructose corn syrup in a great many drinks. Ordinary white sugar is undesirable enough, but high fructose corn syrup is incredibly sweet and damaging with prolonged consumption.
Other serious disorders which are often seen include damage to certain joints in the body. Obviously the bottom extremeties endure the greatest load, and so it is sensible that obese people have hip and knee joint difficulties. Osteoarthritis is commonly seen in these circumstances as well due to joint damage. Unfortunately the usual procedure of joint replacing is not automatically a viable option. People that are not obese can normally have successful joint replacement surgery. Of course only a doctor will make the final determination for those with excessive weight problems. At the least it's rather a risky treatment as the heavy weight on the artificial joint can cause difficulties. The joint that had been replaced may begin to be mechanically unsound which is highly undesireable.
Problems are extremely common concerning the cardiovascular system and particularly high blood pressure. It seems that almost every major function in the body is challenged. All of the body fat that is found is living tissue, and thus it needs vital oxygen along with other nutritional needs. The net impact is to put a terrific pressure on the heart as a result of needs of the extra fat tissue. The high blood pressure is simply a result of this extra demand brought on by the extra weight. In addition to the high blood pressure, the heart rate is going to be much higher as well.
The problem of obesity is an all round highly negative influence on all the body's organs. But our conversation here today is just the tip of the iceberg with regards to all that is possible.
