Six billion people on this planet.
A higher ratio of males in China, and a higher ratio of females born world wide.
A higher ratio of male managers in business.
A higher ratio of females in health care.
Every field has a ratio of females to males where there is no equal playing field of 50/50.
We live in a world with mostly men doing mostly male things and mostly women doing mostly female things no matter what the laws are.
When the ratios are greatly unequal, say a hospital with mostly female employees, or any military branch with mostly male employees, or any place you personally know or have experienced as being greatly over a 50/50 ratio, then the methods of keeping the status quo need to be challenged.
Before challenging the status quo, imagining the reversal of the statistics and envisioning what the results would be is an eye opener.
If most ministers were female, if most generals were female, if all US Presidents were female, if most nurses were male, if most teachers were male, if most secretaries were male, if most counselors were male, if most professors were female,if most scientists were female, and if most farmers were female, the world would look, sound, and feel differently.
The world is changing and more women are working in primarily male dominated fields, and more males are working in primarily female dominated fields, but the changes are not radical and the disparity in ratio is still quite high in many fields.
The reasons are not always with the applicants.
The barriers and incentives are still in place for many areas to maintain ratios of disparity.
