Plantation Shutters
Once upon a time in the deep south plantations, they started looking for ways to have ventilation as well as protection from the sun. Nine months later twin shutters were born, one was named right panel and the other was called left panel.

A shutter panel has a simple and strong anatomy, top and bottom rail, with right and left stile around several louvers, It appears that the louvers are connected with to one another with a push rod that allows as to rotate the louvers. Of course they are usually kept in place with hinges, on beautiful decorative framing. Wood shutters were quite popular, colonial or Victorian style shutters came with smaller louvers one inch to 1 1/4" in width.
As every product evolves to be better and more sophisticated and of course to provide an economy products which did not require paint and sand and paint and sand, PVC, wood composite and vinyl were used in the industry.

Composite shutters, are currently our best offering as they are made of environmentally safe, Green recycled multiple density fiberboard this eco friendly composite is the treated under extreme pressure and temperature to be able to stand both humidity as well as summer heat or winter cold. The composite is then laminated with Dust-EZ⢠Anti Static Eco-friendly laminate finish, We currently provide DuraShutter as well as wood alloy shutters in many available styles.

PVC Shutters, are available yet, we find that as they are much heavier than wood or composite shutters and also the fact that they may discolor we do not readily suggest nor promoted PVC shutters.
Vinyl shutters by vinyl built, vista products and eclipse are hollow louvers yet they insert an aluminum rod in the frame of the shutters to provide very strong and durable construction to these shutters. Vinyl or plastic shutters are more desirable in highly moist environments.
