Generalized Anxiety Disorder or GAD is the most common type of anxiety disorder which causes a person to worry uncontrollably about daily things, no matter how big or small they may be.
When a person worries like this, it affects daily functions.
This can have serious physical effects and lead to panic attacks.
GAD is not an easy diagnosis because it does not have any sensational symptoms.
Constituents being tested for GAD symptoms are observed for at least 6 months.
GAD symptoms should appear within this timeframe.
First let me define what anxiety disorder is.
Anxiety Disorder is a blanket term used to describe any type of disorder in which anxiety is the predominant feature brought on by certain fears or uncertainties.
Fears and anxieties can happen suddenly, gradually, or over the course of a lifetime.
The problem lies within the difficulty of carrying out daily tasks.
As stated earlier, anxiety symptoms should be observed for 6 months.
It's within that 6-month time period that a person must be observed to have excessive anxiety and worry under a variety of situations and reasons.
The person tormented with GAD will find it difficult to control the worry and stress.
It may not be obvious to observers right away because the person with GAD may not experience any panic attacks.
All hope is not lost, though.
Anxiety treatments may consist of cognitive behavior therapy and/or prescriptive medication.
However, I have recently found that the best anxiety treatment for panic attacks is "Panic Away".
It is a simple course developed by someone who has walked in your shoes.
