Treating acne scars through ayurveda

Acne is a very common skin disease that has been around for many years. There are various over the counter medications that can be used to treat acne. However over the recent years, ayurvedic form of medication has increased in popularity as an increasing number of people want natural methods to treat their acne problem.

Various herbs are used in ayurveda acne scars treatment which effectively help in eliminating the scars.

1.One of them is fenugreek or methi. This is excellent for use in not only treating acne scars, but also in treating other skin conditions. To a liter of water, add a few grams of fenugreek seeds and then boil for a few minutes.

Remove from flame and let the solution cool, after which it should be directly applied on acne scars. Repeat this for a week and all acne scars are effectively removed.

1.Another ayurvedic option you have is to keep chandana wood or sandalwood in water for a few hours. This water has to be smeared on the skin to remove scars effectively. Repeat this for as long as required as chandana is also helpful in treating not only acne scars, but other skin conditions.

2.Mint leaves have to be rubbed in a mortar and pestle, or squeezed in a light cloth to extract its juices. This juice is to be directly applied on acne marks wherein you will see immediate improvements.

3.Margosa or neem tree leaves are extremely beneficial to mankind. Not only does it help in removing acne scars, it has thousands of other benefits associated with it. To treat acne scars, all you have to do is place the leaves on the scars. This can be repeated for as many times as required without any side effects on the skin.

Instead of treating acne scars using ayurveda, its better to prevent and control acne in the first place. The most important practice to adopt is to drink as much water as possible. This helps in the flushing out of cellular wastes from the body, and gives your body the healthy glow it deserves.

In addition to this, eat more of fresh fruits and vegetables and avoid oily and spicy foods. Make it a point to wash your face and infected areas with mild warm water and a soft soap two or three times a day. Don't rub your face while wiping it; just pat dry using a cotton towel.

Lastly, don't squeeze or rupture pimples as it not only causes infections, but is what leads to acne scars.
