It seems that everyone is looking for a true love.
The kind of love that is in the movies, that just takes you in and your life is never the same again.
If you are looking for that one true love that is going to change your life forever, then there is something you have to do before you can find it.
You must be a complete person yourself before you can truly love or be loved in return.
There is a misconception out there about love.
It is that your partner must complete you, they will heal all your pain, and every problem in your life will disappear with the sound of their voice and the feel of their touch.
Wrong.
That is not how love works, especially that one true love.
Love is truly a much splendored thing, but you must be a complete person in order to receive it.
The expectation that our partners will heal us is a huge responsibility to put on their shoulders.
They were not the ones that caused our issues, why would we make them the ones responsible for fixing them? And on the topic of fixing, it is not their responsibility to fix you, it's yours.
Being a whole and complete person means facing and dealing with our demons.
When we are not a whole person, we look for another to fill us up and take that emptiness away.
The problem is that when we look outside ourselves, we look for a solution that does not exist.
We will continue to look unsuccessfully until we have faced our demons and filled ourselves up on our own.
Only when we truly accept and love ourselves will we be able to accept love from another person.
When we are not complete within ourselves it really doesn't matter what the other person does, it will not be enough.
So if you want to find true love, make sure you are ready and able to receive it by being a complete person first.
