- 1). Draw your design on tracing paper with a pencil, then trace the design in reverse by flipping the paper face down on a flat surface and tracing the design’s silhouette in as much detail as you’d like. If your brand of fabric crayons instructs you to draw directly on the fabric, do so and skip to the ironing step.
- 2). Color the reversed design as desired using your fabric crayons. Once your design sheet is complete, lightly shake and blow the design sheet to remove unwanted crayon shavings.
- 3). Place several layers of parchment paper between your work surface and the fabric to which you're transferring the design. Set your iron to a temperature appropriate for the fabric.
- 4). Place the colored side of the design sheet face down onto your transfer fabric.
- 5). Iron the back of the design sheet by lightly gliding over its surface, using steady pressure. If you drew your design directly onto the transfer fabric, cover the design with a piece of parchment paper before ironing it to set in the colors. Peel the design paper off once the colors begin showing through the sheet.
