    Quick, Healthy and Nutrient Packed Energy Drink for Breakfast

      Soak raw almonds overnight in a bowl with 1 cup water, or until almonds are covered. Soak raisins and/or dates in other bowl.

    • 2). Pour water containing soaked almonds into saucepan. Turn heat to high and boil water for about 3 minutes. Carefully pour out the hot water and rinse the almonds with cold water.

    • 3). Peel almonds one by one with index finger and thumb. After the water has boiled the almonds, the skin around the outside will easily slide off. Put peeled almonds into blender.

      Warm the milk and saffron stigmas on medium heat for 2 minutes in a saucepan. Do not boil. Add half the warm milk to a blender. Milk will turn a golden yellow color with the addition of saffron.

    • 5). Drain water from raisins and dates. Place the fruit into a blender along with cardamom, cinnamon and maple syrup.

    • 6). Turn blender on low to start and gradually increase power to high. Blend for 3 to 4 minutes. Check the consistency by testing a small amount of the mixture with your finger. The consistency should be smooth between your fingers. If it feels grainy, blend on high for another minute or two.

    • 7). Add remaining warm milk to blender and mix for 1 minute. Drink immediately or pour into container for later enjoyment.
