By now you might be thinking, "But I don't have any previous experience in sales and marketing...
" And well as I always say, "Where there's a will there's a way!" And there's definitely a way, you just have to be smart when it comes to choosing who you'll be working with, and also what you're going to be promoting...
Because if you're trying to promote something that you don't truly believe in, or that you haven't had any personal experience for yourself, then you're going to have a hard time communicating to other people why they would want to use it also.
If you have used whatever it is that you'll be promoting, there can still be some challenges, such as finding people who want what you have and sharing with them the information on why they should chose it over something else.
The great thing about working with the right people on your work at home job or home based business is that you can earn while you learn.
In other words, you can bring in the more experienced people in your area (or support team) to do the work for you until you've learned the skills needed to do what they do.
You will also want to make sure that the people or company you're working with have a specific step by step plan on how to build a profitable part time business using strategies and tried and proven systems that have been shown to be successful by the many people who have used them.
What's the point in doing something unless it's been field tested? The great thing is that once you come across a company that has these sales and marketing systems in place, you should just be able to turn key and have your business start making a profit right away, which is probably part of the reason you decided to start your own home business.
Some key things to look out for in the sales and marketing plan is, do they have a program on generating leads (interested prospects) who are ready and willing to purchase whatever you have...
Do they have a sales system designed to educate, create desire and interest in what you have fast, and then deliver a powerful reason for them to buy now, instead of weeks or months down the track.
Do they have a retention strategy in place? You can do all the work to find your customers but if they drop off as fast as they sign up, then you're just like a duck swimming upstream...
All that work, but you're still getting nowhere.
Some good retention strategies is having all your customers signed up to a regular newsletter to further educate them on the benefits and reasons why they are continuing to use what it is that you've provided them with, along with freebies every once and a while to help make them feel appreciated for being a valued customer of yours (and this is at no expense to you!) As you can see there are quite a few ingredients needed to make a great home based business sales and marketing plan and I hope that this has given you some ideas on what to look for and what to implement with your home business.
