QoS

• Quality of Service (QoS) Reserve Bandwidth Limit is reserved for applications like Windows update and it can be disabled by typing "Regedit" under "Start" "Run" and navigating using the path below:
  
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows
  
  Create a new key and call it "Psched" and then right click on the left window pane and select "DWORD". Name the new key "NonBestEffortLimit" and set it to zero.
  
  

DNS Cache

• Increase your internet cache to improve performance by navigating to the location below:
  
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Dnscache\Parameters
  
  Right click to create new "DWORD" and name it "MaxCacheEnryTtLimit" and set it to 64000
  
  

Streams

• Navigate to the location below:
  
  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
  
  Right click on "MaxConnectionsPerServer and set the value data field to 6. Do the same for the other setting. This tweak allows one to draw up to 6 streams rather than being limited to 2 or 3 streams.
