Increasing Your Food Intake to Gain Muscle

It may not sound right, but eating more food will help to increase your muscle mass.
This seems hard to believe by most people, as the usual thing to do is to go on a strict diet that involves eating less! Having a healthy and great looking body is a common dream.
To do this, some people spend hours and hours in the gym.
They also spend thousands of dollars on the latest equipment as a way to boost their muscle gains.
Some people will have whole pantries full of various muscle gain supplements and powders.
In reality, these types of people find the process of gaining muscle too slow and tedious.
By focusing on eating more to gain muscle, this may seem hard to fathom by most people, as people tend to eat less so that their body will burn fat and thus allow the muscles to have greater definition.
This is because fat tends to cover the muscle and therefore the lines and cuts cannot be seen.
This is a fallacy and you may find that by eating less, you are restricting your muscle gain and making the whole process even harder! You need to keep in mind that your muscles require the right nutrition in order to make them grow.
So, but cutting your caloric intake, you are robbing your muscles of this vital nutrition.
You need to increase your caloric intake if you want to gain weight, but this weight gain will be from an increase in muscle and NOT body fat.
By ingesting mostly proteins and fats, you are providing your body with all the calories it needs to fuel growing muscles.
Be warned! Ingesting too many calories will result in the accumulation of body fat.
Why is that? This is because if there are any leftover calories above what your body needs, it will store these calories for later.
This stored energy will be in the form of body fat, which is what we are trying to avoid.
At all costs! If you find that you are eating more calories than you are using, you will need an effective workout routine.
If you have a regular workout, target the muscles you intend to develop.
This way you will burn off all the unused calories and build the muscles at the same time, hopefully preventing any body fat from being deposited.
The proper workout for faster muscle growth and gain It is very difficult to find the perfect workout routine.
This is because every person is different.
Some people will naturally gain muscle faster than others.
Don't let this discourage you! If you have a proper diet and the right caloric intake, muscle gain is guaranteed! Your routine for maximum muscle gain should include mostly heavyweights.
This is where patience will be crucial, as some people find that lifting heavy weights frequently will get boring, if not painful as well.
If you are not used to lifting heavy weights, you can expect some muscle soreness.
This is your body's way of telling you that muscles are being torn and are therefore being rebuilt.
In other words, your muscles are growing! You need to remember that the longer it takes to gain muscle, the harder it will be to lose that muscle.
If you can gain 1 - 2 kg of muscle a month, you will be surprised at how fantastic you will look in six months! Chances are, you will have gained nearly 10 kg of pure muscle, but you will be lighter on the scales because of all the fat your body will have burnt off never to return! Lifting heavy weights will promote muscle growth, but this is where the proper diet is crucial.
You need to make sure you have enough calories to supply these growing muscle with the nutrients is requires.
This means you may have to eat more! Just remember, it doesn't mean that you can then eat more junk food, which is mostly fat.
It means you should eat more healthy foods, such as lean meats, fish, nuts, oils etc.
If you eat less but still work out, your body may actually start to break down muscle to get the calories it needs.
You will lose weight, but losing weight from muscle mass is not why we are working out! You need to shift your diet to eating more proteins and fewer fats.
So now that you have the mentality that eating more and increasing your caloric intake will help you, you are probably wondering how much you need to increase it by.
Unfortunately, the answer to this won't be found in this article because every person is different, and therefore has different needs.
A good nutritionist will be very helpful in determining what your proper caloric intake should be if maximum muscle gain is your goal.
Everyone would love to have a body that looks healthy and strong, and makes peoples' heads turn.
To do this, the proper diet is just as important, if not more important than the right workout routine.
Unfortunately, most people automatically assume that a diet means eating less.
If muscle gain is your goal, an increase in your food intake is something you must consider.
However, eating more of the right foods (ie proteins, 'good' fats) and less of the wrong foods (ie processed fast foods) is what this really means.
If you do this, your muscle gains will be guaranteed, and you will catch people looking when you are at the beach! Good luck!
