Navy SEALs And The Stress Of War
Many of you know I am from San Diego, home of the legendary SEAL Team 6. Navy SEALs are some of the toughest, most heralded military warriors on earth. These brave men protect our freedom - on a daily basis. Navy SEALs are trained here in San Diego. The training that Navy SEALs have to go through is incredible.
SEAL training is beyond brutal. It pushes men to limits that ordinary people can't fathom. SEAL training is designed to weed out men who may not be able to successfully complete the demanding missions and operations which SEALs face. SEAL training is designed to place incredible mental and physical stress on these men. These are the same extraordinary stresses they will endure as SEALs.
Fact is, NAVY SEALs are trained to kill. Fact is, NAVY SEALs are trained to face death on a daily basis. Fact is, despite all this training to endure the most incredible stresses you and I can ever imagine - they are human, just like you. Just like me. Just like all of us.
Enduring The Stress Of It All
A recent article in our local paper was about a former Navy SEAL that is now homeless due to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). He is down and out due to the stress of war. I didn't need to read this article to know that former SEALs suffer from PTSD. Because we represent former Navy SEALs that went to work as DBA security workers in Iraq and/or Afghanistan after their SEAL career had ended. We see what PTSD can do to these fallen warriors.
What I would like to point out is this. Navy SEALs are human. Just like you. Just like me. Just like all of us. Fact is, no matter who you are or what training you have or whatever - - you can still suffer from PTSD. Even Navy SEALs. Even Army Rangers. Even DBA workers that on a nightly basis have to run to a bunker while putting on body armor. Even DBA workers that have to ride on some of the deadliest roads on earth in Iraq and Afghanistan. Stressing out became they know that people just like them have been killed due to IED's on these deadly roads.
There Is No Shame In Having PTSD
Here is the teaching point here: if a highly trained Navy SEAL can have PTSD - there is no shame in you having PTSD. You don't have to sit in your room and suffer alone. Reach out. Get help. If you don't know where to start - reach out to a seasoned Defense Base Act Lawyer. A good DBA lawyer will help you get into the counseling that you need to get your life back. A good DBA Lawyer will help you and your family get the money compensation you deserve.
You don't have to go this alone. If you are an ex-Defense Base Act worker and you are suffering from PTSD - get help. There is no shame. If the most highly trained warriors on earth can suffer from PTSD - there is no shame in you suffering from PTSD.
Disclaimer
This Defense Base Act article is not legal advice. I am simplistic in order to achieve clarity. Whenever you are bringing a court case, your credibility is always at issue. You may have heard me say, "Tell the truth," again and again, sort of like a mantra.
