The Road to Hell - Food That Should Never Be Given to Your Shih Tzu

If you eat too much or take too much junk food, you will grow unfit and unhealthy.
The same analogy can be applied for Shih Tzu too.
If you give too much junk food to the dog, you can cause the dog to be unhealthy, unfit and in the worst case scenario, causing immediate death.
This is a wake up call to all dog owners (including myself) not to get too soft with your dog.
I know - I have been there.
Their eyes are begging you and asking you to share.
It seems that they are always hungry.
They felt sad when you chase them away and your heart hurts.
Then finally you relented in! When you think that you are just feeding a little chocolate and a little left over pizza, those little portions will eventually harm your dog.
Stop in the name of love! Remember, not all human food are recommended for your Shih Tzu.
You will caused more harm now if you don't stop.
"Taboo Food" for dogs: Chocolates - this is the biggest lethal weapon against your dog's health.
If you thought you are pampering your dog, think twice.
High fat foods - never give high fat foods to your dog; too much of it will caused diarrhea, obesity and will cut down the life span of your dog.
Fish oil, flakeseed oil are good but give in moderation.
Too much of such oil is always not good.
Salt - it is best to avoid salt especially if your dog has heart problem (like mine); remember that natural food (without the season) is always good.
Raisins - if it is eaten in large quantities, this "treat" can cause poisoning, as can macadamia nuts.
Onion - onion are NO NO; they are also poisonous.
I suggest that you read up more on what are the human foods that should be avoided for Shih Tzu.
There are many books and references on this.
Remember, well meaning attempts may cause the life of your dog so it is better to be start now and be firm.
