Travelling is something that broadens and enriches the soul, and is something that everyone should experience.
Going away for a decent amount of time and enriching yourself in other cultures is one of the best ways to answer some of life's deeper questions, such as 'who am I?' and 'what do I want from life?' The biggest stumbling block that most people come up against when deciding whether to go travelling or not is a financial one.
While you obviously need some money to travel (to buy your day-to-day things, etc) you don't need anywhere near the amount of money that most people think that you do.
Most Americans believe that in order to travel the world for a worthwhile amount of time you need to be a millionaire (or richer).
So how do you travel if you are not rich? It's easy, really, and it's simple maths.
Most people work out their current living costs (such as rent, food, car-related expenses and so on) and then add on the cost of travelling on top - only to find that they can't possibly afford to go.
This is a silly way of looking at things, as if you're out of the country you don't need most of the things you currently pay for.
The biggest two expenses that people pay out on are rent and the cost of owning a car.
However, when you go travelling you can remove these two costs by renting out your house and by not driving your car.
