How many companies have you seen on the Internet claiming that they use 100% pure collagen in their skincare products whether they are pills, capsules, creams or serums? If like me, you have done research, you will have seen quite a few. They all have one thing in common and that is they do NOT specify the processing involved or if they do, then it is all very cursory.
Why is this important?
Well, a lot of collagen is sourced from animals such as cowhides and pigskin. There are even certificates to show that the herds are controlled and that they are subject to USDA inspection. But what I want to know is the actually processing and the chemicals used. It is very difficult to find that information.
Collagen is vital.
Collagen protein is found in skin, hair, ligaments, muscles and cartilage and tendons so it is absolutely vital for the functioning of the whole body and not just the skin. Actually it comprises about 80% of all the connective tissue in our bodies.
As for our skin, it plays a vital role, together with keratin and elastin in keeping skin firm, supple and smooth. That is why everyone wants more of it! It has been shown that collagen is more vulnerable to free radical attack so lots of antioxidants do help but that is not the main issue here.
How is this pure collagen processed?
The sad truth is that while the source of collagen is all documented and verified and inspected, there is no regulation or control about what chemicals are used in its processing. The same goes for all skincare creams so it is like the Far West. The FDA refuses to intervene as they say these are not medical products. It is the consumers associations who have led the battle in getting more recognition of the gravity of the problem.
Is hydrolyzed collagen safe and effective?
It depends on which chemicals are used in the processing although generally speaking, they are using harsh ones and high temperatures so there is a big question mark over their safety.
As regards its efficacy, it will not work if the pure collagen cream is molecularly too large to enter the pores of the skin. We therefore need to find an innovative ingredient which is processed in a different and safer way.
Fortunately one company has done just that and the functional keratin they have produced is chemical free and has been processed using solublization. In addition, it is so bio available that it can penetrate the skin and actually get to where the collagen is and that will start re-growing it.
Now that you know that pure collagen is likely to be a trap, why not find out more from my website below and choose a revolutionary product for a change. This one can really rebuild collagen protein. Do something different and get real results!
