- 1). Use PDF 995 to create a professional PDF document. This is free software that you can download onto your computer, so you can create PDFs whenever necessary. When you download PDF 995, an additional printer driver is added to your list of printers. To create a PDF, you simply go to the print menu, and click "Print to PDF 995," instead of your typical printer. Because the software is free, you will have to view a few advertisements while your PDF is being created, but there is also a paid version available to cut this out and speed up the creation process.
- 2). Use Primo PDF to convert your document to PDF. Primo PDF is an online PDF converter. Simply save the document you are working on to your computer, then upload your document using the "Upload" button on the Primo homepage. Enter your email address, and the PDF version of your document will be emailed to you. Primo PDF will convert any type of file, and is accessible in any browser, including Safari and Mozilla. The program is fast, free and easy to use.
- 3). Use Adobe's PDF converting software to create professional looking PDFs. Adobe is the original creator of the PDF software. The basic version of Adobe Acrobat is $15.99 a month, but the company also offers a free plan, which allows for five PDF conversions, in addition to web conferencing and online office applications.
- 1). Check your document thoroughly for any errors. Save your document in its original format. Click "File" on the top menu, and select "Print Preview." Review the preview to make sure no text is running off the page due to large margins.
- 2). Click the printer icon at the top of the preview, or close the preview and select "Print" from the file menu. Click the "PDF" button at the bottom of the Print window. A drop-down menu will appear. Select "Save As PDF."
- 3). Select where you want to save your PDF file on your computer. Click "Save." Your PDF will be created and placed in your chosen location. Review the PDF to make sure there are no formatting errors.
