What does perseverance have to do with the world of internet marketing? I wrote other articles on motivation, determination, and consistency.
I have a poster in my office with all of these terms on them, and, to be honest, they do help.
Now I do NOT mean persevere in the face of obvious doubt.
If you are not listening to your gut, then do not go forward.
If there is a voice inside of you that says, "maybe this isn't right," then pay attention and decide if it is right or not.
Then move forward.
Your heart has to be in what you are doing.
Don't just follow the guidance of others, follow your own guidance.
Using all this determination and perseverance is silly if you don't believe in it.
I guess that's where the word motivation comes in.
So, perseverance is continuing forward in spite of the difficulties and the negative messages.
We will always hit small failures along the way or we may want to give up because our external situation gets worse.
There is a belief that many give up just before all the good comes.
It has been easy for me to use these skills because deep down, after much inner work, I know success is close.
But it sure does get frustrating.
And I ask the question, "is this all a bunch of baloney?" But I have the motivation and the inner knowing.
So it makes the other work more palatable.
I also can look back and see how far I have come and how much I have learned.
I am even using e-lance, for Pete's sake.
For me to be willing to pay for help to do some of this for me, is major.
It is moving to a new level for me.
And, yes, I do know so much more.
Also, the process of working online has evolved for me.
Things I thought I would be doing, I am not, and things I am doing, are totally different.
I do wish I had started writing a long while ago to build up that credibility and status online.
I get excited when I see my name out there because of articles I've written and other people are using my articles.
Wow.
Cool.
And I have found that I enjoy writing - it is very easy for me to pick a topic and sit down and write 500 words.
That is more than I talk - I am a quiet person, but I have a lot of thoughts in my head.
So, as we persevere, we make new discoveries and we learn new things.
It is exciting and a great process.
That is what people mean when they say, "just get started" - start doing, and things will evolve.
Yes, you do have to spend some money, and I have some regrets about some of that money, but it seems to be a live and learn process, also.
Just don't spend more than you can afford and can pay off.
Then that becomes a barrier for your moving forward.
You are now worried about debt.
This makes perseverance more difficult and adds more hurdles to jump.
But I have found it to be like a cross-country run - where none of the views remain the same, and who knows where I will end up.
But it is an exciting and fun journey, but I may get tired, frustrated, and think about giving up, but the views continue to be fantastic and the rewards along the way and at the end are worth it.
