Dating After You Are Divorced

Being that I personally went through a divorce, there are things that you should do when considering re-entry into the dating scene.
You should not start dating until your divorce is finalized and you are done with all that goes along with it.
If you start dating and the person you are dating has to be a part of the divorce process, you just may scare them away.
I waited over a year after my divorce was final.
This seems to be a good time frame.
You will have this extra time to deal with anything that may be lingering around with your divorce.
Once all is said and done, you will have no distractions when dating.
Not only is a year or even a little longer a good time frame to let the wounds from you former relationship heal, it will give you a chance to do things.
How many things have you wanted to do when you were married and you ex put a stop to it or refused to let you do it.
Take this time to do what you want to do.
Take some time for yourself.
You deserve it after all the things you have gone through with a divorce.
Doing things that you want to do will probably expand the number of friends you have to.
You may even need some new friends.
In my case, all of my ex's friends sided with me.
This left her with just about no friends.
I actually got more friends as they all felt I was done wrong by her and they wanted nothing to do with the girl.
When you do start to date.
Now listen because this is important.
Do not bring your dates home to meet your kids.
They will probably hate you for bringing another person to their house.
Yes, they will eventually get over it someday.
You really should not be bringing different people to meet them.
Once you have been with the same person for an extended period of time, then you can let that person meet your kids.
You should not talk about your ex to your dates.
What do they care about your ex.
All you do by talking about your ex is give the impression that you are not over that person yet.
That is such a turn off to the person you are dating.
If you bash your ex, you will come across as a mean person that holds grudges.
When it comes right down to it, you are starting a new chapter in your life.
So do it right.
Make it completely new.
Meet new people.
Have a new attitude.
You may even want to get a new look.
