Recently I found myself in a fairly awkward position.
I was involved with this great guy.

If you fly off the handle and confront him with the attitude that he's done something wrong, he may take that to mean that you've already invested everything you have in the relationship.
On the other hand, if you pretend to not notice when he doesn't call back, that will make him start to wonder why that is.
Men love the chase, all women know that.
It's the reason why men are so doting and romantic in the early stages of the relationship.
They want to impress the woman, pursue her until she falls hopelessly in love.
Once the man senses that has happened, he'll start to rest on his laurels and not be as attentive.
If you get upset when he doesn't call, he'll feel he's already gotten you and he'll have no reason to continue trying to impress you.
