Here are the biggest winning margins in LPGA Tour events:
72-Hole Tournament
- 14 strokes - Cindy Mackey, 1986 MasterCard International Pro-Am
54-Hole Tournament
- 11 strokes - Jan Stephenson (1981 Mary Kay Classic) and Annika Sorenstam (2002 Kellogg-Keebler Classic)
It's no surprise that Sorenstam would show up for this record, and Stephenson was one of the top players of her era. But Cindy Mackey?
In fact, Mackey's win at the 1986 MasterCard International was the only one of her LPGA career.
Hey, if you're only going to win once, do it by 14 strokes!
Note: Louise Suggs won the 1949 U.S. Women's Open by 14 strokes. That was prior to the founding of the LPGA, but the LPGA does retroactively recognize the win as an LPGA Tour victory. However, the tour does not list Suggs' 14-stroke margin of victory among its official records.
