Home woodworkers, professional woodworkers and contractors often have the same requirement when looking for a small table saw - it needs to be portable enough for one person to be able to move it when needed.
Some smaller saw models are able to fit this requirements, but often they can clock in at 60 pounds or heavier, which can still be a lot of weight for a single person to move.
Most portable table saws need to be moved by two people, basically.
But, there is a new trend in rolling table saw stands, which make portable saws even more portable than they already are, and make it possible for even one person to move the saw easily.
Bosch, for example, makes a Gravity Rise stand.
This stand is designed so that a portable saw can be bolted to the top, like any other stand.
But the stand can also be folded to store the saw vertically and can also be rolled around easily since it has wheels.
This is why we like stands with wheels to so much.
It is now possible for a person with back issues to move their portable saw around, and not have to rely on others as much for help.
I like to be able to roll a stand out of a garage and hoist it into the back of a truck without having to find somebody to give me hand, it just makes things that much more efficient.
If you work alone a lot, a rolling stand could be the difference between you being able to take your saw to the job site or not.
Or if you have limited space, you can literally roll your saw out when you need it and lean it up against the wall when not in use.
This type of flexibility is pretty amazing for tools as bulky as table saws.
