Is it not obvious that the declension of American society is continuing? The recent events in Arizona are indicative of a society losing its grip on lawful propriety and sensibility of the individual.
What then is or has been causing this decline? Older Americans can recall that such events as shootings never took place in schools during the 50's or 60's.
Even in the seventies the School incidents were unheard of.
Now, Shootings in schools, colleges, and public places are almost a daily event.
There is so much violence that it's hard to keep track of all the incidents.
What changed in our society, making violence, killing and murder a daily event in the United States? To get to the truth one has to dig deeply and think with great intent.
Without going into too many details, the decline of our society coincides with the deterioration of the nuclear family, specifically, the increasing statistical, absence of a man in the house.
Judges have become accustom to leaving the children with mom.
This trend can be seen in all governmental institutions.
As more and more children are being raised by mothers with no dad in the house the unfavorable statistics climb.
God intended for a family to have a man and he (the Man) is given the reins of the household.
The husband of the house is responsible before God as to how the house is ran and operated.
Children need the input of both a loving Dad and a Mother.
There are lessons and teachings for every child to learn from mom and Dad.
However, there are important lessons that a young boy needs that Mom cannot teach him.
In fact, there are lessons that a young girl needs that Mom cannot teach her.
The reverse is also true, there are lessons that a Boy cannot learn from Dad.
Nevertheless, any boy needs a man to teach him how to be a man.
It is difficult for a loving Mother to teach her boy how to be a man, it's is a man's job to usher a young boy into the arena of Manhood.
My point is that our American society needs family's that have both.
Complete nuclear families where young men can learn to posses force, strength and power, with Self Control, Gentleness and Sensible judgment.
Manhood is the possessing of Power, Force and Strength with the wisdom, Meekness and gentleness, to keep these under control at all times.
To make this happen we need Dads strengths, and his "I can" attitude and discipline of action, wielded with self control and kindness.
These are Qualities of Manhood that God teaches a boy through a loving Dad.
There are exceptions to the rule, such as the famous: Pastor Jack Hyles of the First Baptist Church of Hammond, IN, Who was a "man's man" in every respect and reared almost entirely by his mother.
Yet the exceptions are few.
So what can we do about it? (If you are a Man): Your Marriage is a vow (non reversible Promise) to God and it is permanent, forgive your wife if you need to and commit afresh to make it work, be or become a man who possess strength with kindness and self control.
Strength and power without self control makes you a "loose cannon" that will go off and ruin your life and those around you.
Traffic accidents are a prime example of power without control.
Train your children in the basic skills of a man or Lady in the case of a girl.
You know the qualities, Honesty, Hard work, Think before you act, Think before you speak, Strength and the habit of daily exercise, Positive thinking, Accurate thinking, Kindness and respect to the female gender, Self Control, and the list goes on.
Mothers, don't teach your boys the same way you teach your girls.
If you are a single parent then use good men as examples, like a school coach or a principle or the Police officer who may live across the street.
Point out their good qualities.
Point out to your boy when you see a man who walks and acts like a man.
Have some hard physical work for him to do daily.
Train him to keep a schedule, like going to bed at the same time every day.
Raising a family takes work and commitment.
Train him to do things for you in kindness.
All boys should be taught to do everything they do to the best of their ability.
Men Keep your family together and take responsibility as the "Gentle man" of the house.
I will keep my house in order, you keep your house in order and we have already made a difference for the future.
The difference we make may save the life of a beautiful 9 year old girl in the future.
One thing I know is that even if it's just you and I, America will be a better place.
