What makes a person becomes addicted to tobacco? As we all know, tobacco is the main ingredient in a cigarette.
Smoking cigarette basically can be considered as an act of tobacco consumption.
The most powerful chemical inside the tobacco is nicotine.
This is the chemical that is responsible to create a tobacco addiction in smokers.
Nicotine when it's consumed in small amount will act as a stimulant in human.
The presence of stimulant in human body will induce a temporary improvement in either mental or physical function or both.
When nicotine enters a human body for the first time, that person will feel a "temporary high" due to this stimulant's effect.
This is what the smokers are looking for during smoking.
However, that "high" is felt only during their first few cigarettes.
They will keep smoking to get such a feeling again but only to create a nicotine dependency.
The easiest way not to become addicted to nicotine is by not trying to smoke in the first place.
Don't trick yourself that you'll not become addicted.
Once the barrier between you and a cigarette is broken; you are likely to continue smoking after your first cigarette because you don't have that guilt or fear feeling anymore.
However, this doesn't mean that if you are already addicted, you will be addicted for the rest of your life.
There many ways to stop smoking but those ways require a strong will and continuous action from your part.
You must not give up when you fail.
That happened to me too.
If you try hard enough to quit smoking, eventually you'll quit.
However, it's good if you keep this in mind - prevention is better than cure.
Don't start if you don't want to get addicted.
