How to Cut Light Lenses

    • 1). Clean the lens to be cut with a spray of household glass cleaner and a quick wipe-down with a paper towel. You want to work with as clean a surface as possible.

    • 2). Mark the area to be cut with a black permanent marker. Try to make your cut with only straight lines and obtuse angles. This will make the actual cutting much easier.

    • 3). Attach a cutting wheel to your high-speed handheld rotary tool.

    • 4). Cut along the previously marked line on your lens. Go slow to minimize error and keep your cutting wheel perpendicular to the lens material for a straight edge.

    • 5). Finish edges to your liking using a fine bastard file.
