How to Check if Your Visa Is Ready

    • 1). Look for your new Visa card in the mail. Open the envelope and confirm your card is included with your confirmation information on the related paperwork.

    • 2). Examine the card for a specific sticker placed on the new credit card. Use a phone to call the phone number on the included sticker. Look for the same information on the attached paperwork if no sticker is included. Call the number.

    • 3). Follow the instructions on the automated messaging system when your call connects. Input your new credit card number when asked to do so. Confirm your personal identification -- typically your zip code or social security number -- as prompted. Wait for the system to verify your information.

    • 4). Conclude the call when the system confirms your new Visa credit card is now activated. Turn on your computer and internet connection to confirm your card electronically as an option. Go to your credit card issuer website. Create a new account with your credit card information or log in to the website. Enter your new credit card data and wait for the system to reflect your account information. When your account information displays, your account is active.
