- 1). Sign up with an online search engine that will pair you up with other parents in your area. Websites like My Play Date offer this service. This is a great option if you're recently relocated and don't know people in your neighborhood. You'll create a profile describing both you and your child, and you'll be able to contact other parents who are looking to pair their children up with new friends.
- 2). Attend events for children that are held at your local religious centers, libraries and community centers. You'll meet other parents and you'll be able to see which children immediately take to each other and begin playing together. From there you can decide who you'd like to set up future play dates with.
- 3). Bring your child to different parks in your area, even if you bring them alone and don't have a playmate for them yet. Chances are you'll meet other parents at the park, some of which may have children the same age as your child. If the children get along on the playground, chat with the parent a bit. Feel out if they'd be interested in getting the kids together in the future to play, even if it's back on the same playground.
