The World Still Awaits a New Cure For Baldness

At last, scientists are working on a new cure for baldness.
This will make millions of people around the world happy as they all suffer from baldness.
While many solutions are on the market, no one has yet found the miracle cure that will work across the board.
A study has revealed that mice with skin wounds that are deep can grow new hair.
This has encouraged scientists in finding a solution for men that are balding prematurely.
Mice that had the substance, regenerated fur at the wound site.
This was by way of a molecular process similar to that to the development of an embryo.
This breakthrough is groundbreaking, as it now shows that mammals are able to regenerate in ways that were previously unheard of.
This negates all previous belief that baldness is a permanent condition.
It now tells us that new follicles can grow.
The findings have prompted scientists to add compounds that will enable epidermal cells to become follicles on your scalp.
This tells us that at last there is a possible way in which to cure male baldness and other kinds of loss follicles on the head.
The study necessitated that large wounds were inflicted on the backs of the mice.
Once the wound became a certain size then new follicles would start to grow.
The changes in the skin were similar to that of follicle development in an embryo.
The opinion after this study was performed is that it will take about half a decade before this type of treatment would be found to be safe in human beings.
Other opinion differs.
The feeling is that the study looks like it could work in principle.
The problem however is that animal skin, particularly mouse skin, is different to that of human beings.
The feeling is that the processes of regeneration and repair would be in direct competition.
Wounds that close quickly, assists wild animals to survive in the wild.
More often than not repair is stronger than regeneration.
In human beings, it is common for patients to get wounds closed as fast as possible.
It is for this reason that the regeneration has not been discovered in human beings.
In Japan, they have also worked on the mice in the same way.
They have focused on baldness due to genetic factors and stress.
Mice who bred without the Sox21 gene were very probable to lose fur in the postnatal phase.
The feeling is that this would apply in humans as well.
The world still awaits a blanket new cure for baldness.
