- 1). Move up to the front of the television and press the "Power" button on the side to turn it on if you are having issues turning it on with the remote. If you are able to turn it on this way, make sure there are no items blocking the front of the television from the remote and try again. If this does not fix the problem, remove the battery cover from the back of the remote, remove the batteries and insert new ones.
- 2). Examine the power cord on the back of the TV to make sure it is intact and not frayed or damaged if you can't turn on the television with the built-in "Power" button. Make sure the cable is inserted into the port on the back of the TV fully and that it is plugged into a working AC outlet.
- 3). Check the connections to the television in the back if you are able to turn on the television but you do not see any images. Make sure that the component you are trying to use is connected properly to an input and that it is plugged in. Press the "Input" button on the remote to switch to the proper input for the device.
- 4). Check the remote volume by pressing the "Vol" up button if you are unable to hear sound, but see video on the screen. It is also possible that the volume is muted, so try pressing the "Mute" button to see if that solves the problem. Check the audio connection to the device you are using to make sure it is connected properly if the problem is still not resolved.
