- 1). Insert the blank DVD-R into the CD/DVD drive of the computer.
- 2). Open the DVD burning software and specify "Burn Data DVD." You can use Windows Media Player if you do not have a third-party DVD data burning software. When using Windows Media Player, select the "Burn" tab on the menu and select "Data CD or DVD."
- 3). Drag and drop the AVI file from Windows Explorer into the burn queue. You can also use the "Open" or "Browse" buttons in the software toolbar to search your computer for the file.
- 4). Select the "Start Burn" or similar command. Leave the computer alone until the software finishes the burn process, or you could ruin the disc.
- 5). Play the burned file by inserting the disc into your computer, opening Windows Explorer to the CD/DVD drive and double-clicking the AVI file.

- 4). Title your DVD, if this option is available.
- 5). Select the "Start Burn" command. Again, do not work on any other computer applications until the burn process is complete.
- 6). Play the DVD on your DVD player as you would any store-bought DVD.
