Swine Flu Symptoms

Most adults and children that come down with the H1N1 swine flu who are in good health will recuperate without needing to seek the help of a doctor or hospitalization. Some people might want to call their doctor or pediatrician for advice on how to care for the H1N1 swine flu at home if they think that they do have some of the H1N1 Swine Flu symptoms. This year swine flu didn't really leave us during the summer like a seasonal flu does. Swine flu symptoms continued to be reported throughout the hot months and experts expect the number of cases in the fall and winter to be unprecedented.

H1N1 Swine Flu is an influenza virus causing mild to severe symptoms. The vast majority of people contracting the H1N1 Swine Flu have recovered on their own without a doctor or hospitalization. It should be noted, however, that death has occurred as a result of contracting the H1N1 Swine Flu in a few people. Swine flu is believed to be contracted through contact with an infected person. This type of influenza has been observed to readily spread from person to person. A person infected with H1N1 swine flu will not immediately notice any changes. Depending on the person's immune system, it could take 24 hours or more for him or her to start feeling the effects of the infection.

First, you should know that it is very unlikely that you will be able to tell the difference between a regular seasonal flu and H1N1. If you suspect that you may be infected with the h1N1 virus, it is highly recommended that you see a physician. Since the indications of both of the viruses are very similar, only your doctor will be able to give you the positive results. There are some symptoms that may occur that are considered to be rare, but have been seen in many cases of the H1N1 swine flu. Some of the rarest symptoms are those that are neurological based. Many individuals have experienced seizures and have even displayed unusual cognitive changes while suffering from this condition. There have been cases reported where behavioral changes also occurred.

Swine influenza is a respiratory infection caused by the influenza type A virus, endemic in domestic pigs. In the past, this flu has infected people only rarely - those infected being ones who have had direct and close contact to infected pigs. If we look at the symptoms of Swine Flu which are nothing but symptoms that are commonly caused by cold or flu which may or may not be caused due to swine flu.
