Best time to visit Nashik – A fertile land of Grapes and Sugarcane

The city of Nashik is indeed a vital part of Maharashtra's development. The place is indeed known to produce some of the finest quality wine from its many vineyards and sweetest form of raw sugar stored in wide acres of sugarcane plantations all around. The place is also indeed quite popular for many historical and religious places all around. The best time to visit Nashik is said to be between the months from October to February when the weather is pleasant with temperature varying between 8°C to 32°C. Such a climate indeed makes for an ideal time for sightseeing and enjoying outdoor activities such as fishing and boating.

During the summer season, which is between March to May, the place gets unbearably hot with sometimes the level of mercury shooting well above 42°C.

From June to September, the city experiences medium rainfall. At this time, although the temperature goes down, outdoor activities and sightseeing is not possible, hence it would be best to avoid visiting Nashik during the summer as well as monsoon season.

Apart from everything else the city also has a strong mythological background. It is said that Lord Rama lived in Panchvati during his Vanvas (Exile). Agasti Rushi reportedly also stayed in Nashik for Tapasya. The Godavari River originates from Trimbakeshwar in Nashik where you may also come across 12 Jyotirlingas. Godavari which is popularly known as Ganga of South India originates at holy place Trimbakeshwar. Another major river is Girna. Other rivers are Darna,Mosam, Aram, Vaitarna, Manyad and Kadwa. Apart from farming, the climate in Nashik is also favourable for allied activities such as Dairy, Poultry, and Sheep & Goat rearing. Locals from remote areas have begun weaving carpets that are not just old here by also in the international markets.
