- Before you start looking at JVC camcorders, decide what you need it for. If you are a short film videographer, than your needs will be different than if you are a hobbyist. You may also want to look at the existing equipment you have to be sure your new camcorder will be compatible while editing or viewing. For example, high definition, such as found in the entire HD Everio line of JVC camcorders, may not be compatible with the rest of your equipment.
- Once you have decided what you want to use your camcorder for, you may want to familiarize yourself with some of the features on specific models. The GZ-MS110 model lacks some of the features that the other camcorders in its class have, such as not having one-touch export.
- Although all the JVC camcorders in the 2010 line weigh less than one pound and have similar dimension, some camcorders will be more comfortable in your hands than others. When you hold the camcorder, you want the buttons and switches to be in places that make sense to you.
