It seems as though everyone is jumping online to make their fortunes...quick and easy. Unfortunately, it's not as easy as it appears.

If you're going to make any money on the internet, you need to know at least the basics of building and maintaining a website.

One of the main reasons you will want to make your own website, especially for the online beginner, is the ability to make changes to your site without having to outsource your work for every single change you may want to make.

A word of caution for the beginner...many sites will tell you don't need a website of your own...you can use their website, complete with product and maybe even a squeeze page. Don't be fooled. It's a bad idea because 10,000 other people are marketing the same site. Bad business. You CAN make your own website for the online beginner if you can find someone who will mentor you or give you easy, step-by-step instructions.

There are many sites out there that claim to teach you in ten easy steps, etc. The problem with this type of training is they don't explain "why" things work the way they do. Knowing "why" things work the way they do will give you an upper hand in this business. If you want to learn how to make your own website, you'll need either a personal trainer, which will cost you an arm and a leg, or join a site that is for the online beginner, which has a combination of video training, reading and verbal training. How you think mentally about making your own website will have a lot to do with your success. You must have the right mind set to tackle making a website.

First and for most, you must realize that learning to make your own website is a skill. And all skills are learned. Lacing your shoes is a skill, driving is a skill, both of which are learned. Creating your own website will give you the freedom to make websites at will. As stated before, it is a skill that can be learned in a fairly short period of time. Success can be yours if you will just learn this skill. If you do, then you'll be three quarters of the way to making your fortune online.
