How to Post Anime

Uploading and Posting an Anime Artwork

    • 1). Place completed artwork on a scanner to import to your computer. Follow the guidelines on the scanner and computer program to import. Consider image size and pixels-per-inch if uploading multiple pictures, as large files will require more storage space on your computer. Image size multiplied by pixels-per-inch will equal the exact amount of pixels your image will be. The more pixels your image is, the larger the file. Proceed to scan the picture to your computer when ready. Make sure the hard copy is facing down on the appropriate area of the flat bed of the scanner or the entire hard copy may not be in the scanned image.

    • 2). Take the scanned file and decide on the quality of the image you wish to post. Consider the tools you have at your disposal if you wish to enhance your image or touch it up by using photo programs such as Adobe Photoshop or iPhoto. An example is an "unsharp mask" tool in the "filters" options on many photo programs. This will allow you to enhance the sharpness of your picture if there is any low-quality crossover from hard copy to digital image. Check to see if your image size is 30 megabytes at most after touch ups or alterations. Alter the image dimensions, file type or color depth as examples for reducing image size. You may have to reduce the image size further depending on different websites.

    • 3). Take the image file and place it on various websites such as art-sharing websites, anime fan sites or your own personal blog. You can only post on sites that allow you to upload images. Websites such as DeviantART, Tumblr and PhotoBucket are places in which anime pictures can be posted and shared. Many of the sites will have a "upload image/picture/artwork" option. Click on "upload" and follow the given directions. Normally, this is merely a quick process of sending the data to the website and should not take more than a minute. Consider website uploading parameters to make sure you know what file types can be used. Many websites require either gif, jpg (or jpeg), png or bmp image file types. Check the website's file size limits when uploading to see if your image is under the maximum allowed. If your file type and size do not meet requirements, you must return to an image editing program on your computer to adjust and save the file. Once saved, return to the website and attempt again.
