- 1). Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the foundation specifications. Lay out the dimensions of the 4-inch thick foundation according to the instructions. Place 1-inch by 2-inch stakes in the corners of the foundation.
- 2). Have a backhoe operator excavate the foundation area for the footing and concrete slab. Make the footing around the perimeter of the slab 12 inches to 18 inches or more in accordance with local codes. Pack the soil base tight. Pour a layer of gravel and compact.
- 3). Build the form with 2-inch by 4-inch lumber, which forms the outer perimeter of the slab. Place a 1-inch by 2-inch stake every 4 feet behind the form. Lay rebar about 3 inches from the bottom of the footing and again at 5 inches from the bottom. Rebar is 1/2-inch diameter steel rods.
- 4). Pour the concrete for the foundation. Spread wire on the concrete at the 2-inch level. Make sure the foundation has a level surface. Insert the anchor bolts, with 2 inches of exposure above the surface, before the concrete cures.
- 1). Secure the sidewall columns to the anchor bolts. Do not completely tighten the washer and nuts. Install 2-inch by 4-inch boards for bracing as required.
- 2). Install the girts, which consist of horizontal channels that provide stability for columns and fastening surface for wall panels. Hand-tighten the girts. Secure the eave struts around the perimeter and hand-tighten. Attach the cable bracing diagonally between the columns.
- 3). Place the rafter components on the foundation and assemble. Employ a forklift to hoist the rafters into position. Insert the first rafter to the top end of the center columns. Secure a rope on each side of the rafter to stabilize the components.
- 4). Proceed with the installation of the remaining rafters. Install purlins to the roof structure, which serve the same purpose as the wall girts.
- 5). Follow the instructions for plumbing and straightening the frame. Start with the column closest to the center column Place a carpenter’s level against the column to check and tighten the base plate to the foundation.
- 6). Erect the end wall column, girts and rafters. Secure in accordance with the installation manual. Install the frame openings for windows and doors per the manufacturer's guidelines
- 7). Install the base angles around the perimeter of the concrete slab, between the columns. Secure the rake angles, which run from the roof peak down to the eaves struts' self-tapping screws.
- 1). Measure the distance from the eaves strut down to the base angle. Roll out the insulation and cut the material 6 inches longer than the actual measurement. Refer to the instructions for the placement of the two-sided insulation tape and attaching the installation.
- 2). Refer to the instructions for predrilled holes in the panels. Attach the metal wall panels. Insert self-tapping screws through the predrilled holes and secure to the eaves, girts and base angles. Install the corner trim, eave trim and flashing per the installation instructions.
- 3). Install the roof insulation, panels and trim. Install the door and window kits in accordance with the product instructions.
